The Secret of Mon Island : Special Edition (abbreviated as SMISE) is a remake of the first Mon Island game, The Secret of Mon Island, for PC, iPhone, Mac OS X, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. It was developed by LucasArts and relsed on July 15th, 2009 . The remake ftures the same plot line and puzzles as the original game, although new dialogue has been written and all lines voice-recorded. The graphics have been completely redrawn to 1080p resolution. In addition, the remake ftures a re-mastered musical score, and full voiceover. An in-depth hint system has been added to help players through the game’s puzzles. The game also allows players to switch between the new HD graphics and the original 256-color VGA artwork. The game's twisty plot lds hero Guybrush Threepwood on a quest to discover the fabled Mon Island. Tales of pirate wlth attract Guybrush, who lands at the port of Mêlée Island with high hopes, no money and an insatiable desire to become a pirate. Soon Guybrush wins the confidence of Mêlée's established pirates and finds himself blown by the winds of fate toward Mon Island—a storied isle whose name alone chills the bones of even the most bloodthirsty buccaneers. Though Tales of Mon Island came out on Wii over the same time period, there are currently no plans to relse the Special Edition on the Wii. The PC version is available by direct download through Stm and other online distribution channels like Direct2Drive , Direct2Drive UK and Direct2Drive EU. On July 23rd 2009, an iPhone version was announced and put on sale through the iTunes App Store. After its relse on Stm, the Special Edition remake topped the sales charts for the week ending July 18. On July 20th, the Xbox 360 version had alrdy sold over 38,000 copies. The Special Edition remake was later relsed for Mac on April 19, 2010, and for PlayStation 3 three days later.
